Overview

PureBlur is a browser extension that lets you showcase webpages without worrying about privacy leaks. Whether you're screen recording, screen sharing, live streaming, or taking screenshots, blur sensitive information like personal data, account details, API keys, and internal URLs with one click— all processing happens locally in your browser. No webpage content is ever uploaded. Features 7 blur modes: Element Blur, Text Selection Blur, Column Blur, Area Blur, Smart Scan, Tab Protection, and more. Rules are persisted per domain and automatically apply to dynamically loaded content. All data processing is done locally in the browser.

Features

Element Blur

Hover to highlight page elements, click to blur/unblur. Perfect for hiding sidebar user info, table rows, account balances, and other standalone areas.

Text Selection Blur

Select any text on a page and blur it with one click. Two sub-modes: blur selection only, or blur all matching text across the page.

Column Blur

Hover over table cells to reveal column selection buttons. Blur entire columns with one click. Supports native tables and div-based grids with header detection.

Area Blur

Draw a rectangular region for physical-layer masking, unrestricted by DOM structure. Ideal for blurring sensitive info in irregular layouts.

Smart Scan (Beta)Beta

One-click auto-detection and blurring of emails, phone numbers, ID numbers, amounts, and other common sensitive info. Beta feature—manual review recommended.

Tab Protection

Automatically blur browser tab titles and favicons to prevent tab bar info leaks during screen recording.

Persistence & Anti-Flicker

Blur rules auto-save per domain and restore silently on refresh. MutationObserver watches dynamic DOM for instant blurring of new content. Anti-flicker protection on page load.
