FAQ
PureBlur Documentation
Does PureBlur affect normal webpage usage?
No. Blur effects are applied at the CSS level only (filter: blur and CSS masks) and do not affect webpage interactivity. Buttons, links, and forms remain fully functional after blurring. All data processing happens locally in your browser — no webpage content is ever uploaded to external servers.
Do blur effects work with all screen recording software?
Yes. Since blur is achieved through browser CSS rendering, it's part of the visual output — any screen recording software (OBS, ScreenFlow, QuickTime, built-in system recording, etc.) will capture the blurred result. Tab title and favicon protection is also implemented through native browser APIs and works during recording.
What happens after the 14-day trial ends?
After the trial ends, the PureBlur control panel enters a locked state — you can't perform new blur operations or switch modes. However, all blur effects you've already set are preserved and will continue to work even after page refresh. After purchasing any plan, we recommend completing payment and activation directly in the extension panel (auto-activation). Alternatively, you can purchase through the website and manually enter the License Key you receive.
What pricing plans are available?
PureBlur offers three plans: Monthly at $2.90/mo (low-commitment trial), Yearly at $19.90/yr (recommended, save 41%), and Lifetime at $69.90 (one-time payment, permanent access). All plans include the exact same features — only the billing cycle differs.
Do blur effects disappear after refreshing the page?
No. Blur rules are permanently saved per domain in the browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). They are automatically reapplied after refreshing the page or reopening the browser. We also use MutationObserver to watch for dynamically loaded content, ensuring newly appearing elements are correctly blurred.
Can one License Key be used on multiple computers?
One License Key can be bound to up to 3 devices. This covers most users' setups (desktop + laptop + backup machine). For use on more devices, you'll need to purchase an additional License.
Can I use it across multiple browser profiles?
Yes, but blur rules and license status are isolated per browser profile and do not sync automatically. Different browser profiles need to be activated separately (counting toward the same License Key's 3-device quota).
What if I encounter compatibility issues?
Some websites using Shadow DOM or special frameworks may experience blur anomalies. If you encounter issues, please send the website URL and a description of the problem to hello@galaxyzw.com — we'll fix it as soon as possible.
