Element Blur

PureBlur Documentation

What is Element Blur

Element Blur is the most intuitive blur mode. Open the control panel and click the "Element Picker" button. When you hover over the page, blurable elements are highlighted with a border. Click to blur an element, click again to restore.

How to Use

  • Click the PureBlur icon in the browser toolbar to open the panel
  • Click the "+" element picker button in the toolbar
  • Hover over the webpage element you want to hide
  • When you see the highlight border, left-click
  • The element is immediately blurred
  • Click the blurred element again to remove the blur

Use Cases

Ideal for temporarily hiding specific areas on a page, such as user info in a sidebar, account balances at the top, or specific rows in a table.

Notes

  • Blur effects are implemented via CSS filter — all screen recording tools capture them correctly
  • Blur does not affect interactivity — buttons remain clickable, forms remain fillable
  • After closing the control panel, hover highlighting stops, but applied blur effects persist
